How to decorate a guest room?
Some of the most common points to remember while decorating a guest room are as follows:
- Arrange for a decent and comfortable bed which is the most essential need for your guests who are planning to stay overnight at your place. Provide some clean bed sheets, pillow covers and extra blankets for a comfortable sleep.
- Clear out some space in your room or a particular corner where the guests can keep their luggage with ease. If you do not have even have a corner to spare, then at least provide a chair or a table-top to place their luggage.
- Provide them with a space to hang their shirts, pants or other items in the room. You might even clear out some space in your cupboard and ask them to place their clothes in your closet. Or else give them some decent hangers or empty rods wherein they can put their clothes.
- Arrange for a bed-side table with a glass of water, an alarm clock and some good books/magazines to browse through at night. Also you may keep some pens/pencils, tissue and scissors.
- Always have a dim light working as a night bulb for your guest room because they might need that at any point of time during night. Make sure that the light control is near the bed or in case its not, then provide a torch which might be extremely handy.
- Try to provide at least a chair and table in the guest room as they might like to sit and discuss something at night or might just like to laze around in the chair. The table might be handy for ironing purposes and also for doing some other work.
- Last but not the least, make sure that you provide enough privacy to your guests which they might require and appreciate. Show them all the basic necessary items at the beginning and leave them lonely for some time, although you are the host and are required to entertain them; but do not overdo your part.
